Our herbs and leafy greens are grown in your local YASAI vertical farm right here in Switzerland and we aim to grow berries in the future. We offer a wide variety of freshly grown, edible plants that are pesticide-free, resource-friendly, and have less food miles. We are constantly expanding our crop portfolio.
Redesigning Our Food System Based On Circular Economy
We see Vertical Farms as an infrastructure for future "smart edible cities." Our design is rooted in circularity:
We reuse waste heat of our LEDs as a resource to heat up other spaces. We benefit from existing CO2 to promote & accelerate plant growth and turn organic waste and wastewater into nutrients.
All our organic waste will be transformed to clean energy in bio gas plants.

Our farms offer space for collaborative research with Swiss institutions to enhance our knowledge on vertical farming and sustainable agriculture. YASAI is currently collaborating with ZHAW, Agroscope, and Fenaco as part of an InnoSuisse initiative.
Automated internal logistics & lift system
Our partners have created an ingenious automated logistics system that transports our plants to us. By eliminating the need for corridors, the logistics system maximises space and saves labour costs. Additionally, it enhances crop protection by eliminating the need for humans to enter the grow chamber.
Automated farm process
From seed to store, several processes are labour intensive and thereby require human capital. In conjunction with leading firms, we are hard at work developing solutions to automate tedious and repetitive tasks such as sowing, harvesting, cleaning, and packaging.

Our farms are constantly learning. Each plant is unique and requires a specific combination of light frequencies, climate, nutrient composition, and growth cycle. Over time, we gather data and learn how to improve our growth and create products with the best taste and nutritional value possible.
